Loungewear + Wide Brims

Because if 2020 taught us anything, its that you can definitely wear your underwear outside

Loungewear + Wide Brims

I'll be the first to say that one of the only 'not horribly horrible' things to come out of 2020 was the fact that stylistically we all really embraced the loungewear look when it came to fashion. Naturally in the beginning of the shutdown everyone was home and heck yes we're wearing sweatpants all day every day! I've never spent so much time browsing loungewear / sleepwear / underwear / activewear brands in my life - I've also never spent so much money on these items. Aside from the pandemic, the trends of COMFY has been fully executed. The return of biker shorts for not biking? Matching sets in soft fabrics? Oversized tees, and dare I even say the good riddance to the skinny jeans and highlight of the relaxed look. And isn't that what we all want? To feel good and to look good while feeling good. When I started working from home I kept being like, "and why the hell am i putting jeans on today?" Needless to say, I truly embraced this stylistic version of comfortable. Some of my favorite brands I found that aligned with this vision has been ARQ, Richer Poorer, MATE The Label, Everlane, and even Old Navy. When it was no longer "let me run into the grocery store," and more "hey lets go grab a drink at happy hour," I truly got to see this comfy look come to life: all I needed was to throw on some of my favorite wide brim hats and keep everything else as is. One of my absolute favorite style approaches is mixing traditionally casual and stereotypical dressy-wear interchangeably. These Loungewear looks do just that!

My go-to moves: 1) Some sort of heel 2) Almost always a blazer 3) Usually some bright lipstick 4) All about the accessoriesSo if you're thinking about doing the whole "activewear but just really going out for a drink" vibe? I say do it. Bring the wide brims.
