Get Out with Goorin: Palm Springs, CA

Packing for our five day trip to the desert meant being selective about which hats were going to make the cut. My husband Sean went with his first Goorin ever, Dean The Butcher in whiskey, a Farm trucker cap, and his favorite hat, a collab with Hampui Hats (just like our RSVE collection!) I surprisingly kept it to JUST one: Happy Trails (fitting no?)

Sean went with Dean on the plane because it is so comfortable and he didn't even need to take it off during the four hour flight because of its malleable finish. We had a few dinner reservations so he knew his best statement piece, his Hampui, would be perfectly for those nights. I chose Happy Trails because its the perfect sized brim - not too wide where it can get difficult to pack, and not too stiff so it was easy to throw on or off depending on the outfit. Plus the creme color works perfectly with all the neutrals and earth tones I knew I'd be packing. I also find it so easy to swap from daytime to nighttime looks with Happy Trails. I wore it during lunch with just workout clothes, and into our dinner reservation with a mini dress and boots. Visit: Thick as Thieves - @shopthieves / Mojave Flea Trading Post - @mojaveflea - where we found our friend and fellow hat maker Hampui Hats had a booth! / Palm Springs Art Museum - @psartmuseum

Eat + Drink: Dead or Alive Bar - @deadoralivebarandshop - for all your natural wine needs / Las Palmas - @laspalmasbrewing - it happened to be their two year anniversary when we stopped in and they just released a new beer that morning / Kings Highway - @kingshighwaydiner - the magical old Denny's turned way cooler diner located inside the Ace Hotel and Swim Club / Workshop Kitchen- @workshopkitchenbar / Counter Reformation - a tiny wine and tapas bar located in the Parker Hotel @parkerpalmsprings

We also spent a night over in PioneerTown, CA - which if you have not been , you absolutely must. On the way over we had to stop at our favorite natural wine shop Wine and Rock Shop which never disappoints in their selections. Newer spots since this year included breakfast tacos and queso at Red Dog Saloon and about a 30 min drive over to Out There Bar out in Twentynine Palms, CA. Totally worth it, plus the sunrise the next morning was perfect - threw on a Fram trucker, brought some coffee outside and sat in the bed of the pickup truck. Where is your next trip planned and what hats are you bringing with you
