Happy National Hat Day from the Goorin family to all of you! Goorin Bros. has been making hats since 1895 and we are so lucky to have been included in the great history of hats.
It has been said that the history behind National Hat Day is this:
On January 15th, 1797, haberdasher
John Hetherington walked into court wearing the "first top hat". The judge claimed the tall, intimidating style hat "disturbed and distracted the public."
Since at least 1983, schools, libraries, and museums have observed National Hat Day inviting students and patrons to wear their favorite hats.
