The Story Behind El Sol:EL SOL is a workshop project between two old friends, Wilee Roberts of Hampui Hatsand Ben Goorin of Goorin Bros., passionate about hats. They come together one Sunday each month in Wilee's workshop in Berkely, California to make something extraordinary for the moment. Each hat is crafted by hand from articles responsibly and sustainably sourced from around the world. Learn more about El Sol here.The Details:El Violoncello features a custom woven Peruvian hat band wrapped over a classic tonal grosgrain band. With a cool subtle ribbon pop on the edge binding. It has a teardrop shaped crown that sits at 4" tall and a brim width of 3.25". This piece is 100% wool with sizes from S-XL. The sweatband is leather so it molds perfectly to your head shape and will soften overtime providing comfort and cool. As always, El Sol features hats felted and blocked in Bolivia. The detailing is all hand-assembled in Berkeley, CA.Why We Love it: The hat band has a subtle pattern and woven with a room-sized loom. The ribbon-edge binding is a gorgeously light sky blue which perfectly highlights the bone colored hat. The pop of red-orange in the accessories make this hat special without saying "look at me." The detailing is just enough to make this not just another bone colored hat, yet still is your go-to hat of the day.
