Welcome back to our monthly zoom episode of Inside the Crown, where Alex of our Virtual Styling Program joins me, Sarah, of The 1895 Journal, as we dive into topics surrounding the hat life.
This month's episode was super fun because we got a chance to have Dre aka @mrnycsubway on the show as our guest. If you all aren't familiar, Dre is the photographer and genius behind our viral social campaign “The Stranger Series.”
The abridged version is this: Dre has a Goorin Bros fedora and meets strangers on the subway or in the streets of New York, and asks them to model the hat for him. They receive all the photos at the end and even get to keep the hat!
We got a chance to get all the behind the scenes details on how the campaign started and the entire process of landing a stranger in New York City. I personally love this series because often the strangers he meets are just normal people commuting on the train in New York who happen to be wearing a cool outfit and have an amazing story to tell. Dre does such an awesome job of capturing the essence of these strangers, while also allowing them to transform for a moment with a fedora on their head.
