Block No.25 has been made famous by our classic Colonel Pierce. This style came out a few years back and it has often been viewed as our "elevated everyday" hat. A lot of first-time hat wearers are intimidated by the Colonel, but you don't need to be! - The Details:4.5" teardrop crown, 3.25" flat wide brim with a pencil curl.
Block No.25 has an exaggerated teardrop crown that is taller in the front than the back, making it a super flattering shape on almost everyone. Some folks' hesitation lies in the crown height, others are most intimidated by the pencil curled brim. Don't get me wrong, Block No.25 is A LOT of hat, but its elevated and pretty effortless in making a statement. Colonel Pierce in brown was actually my first hat when I started working for Goorin. I felt instantly bad-ass and it was so simple to add to my outfits and feel instantly cooler.
Even my husband wasn't into Colonel at first. Sometimes there's a journey that I like to call "widening the brim." My husband was an avid Dean or Block No.26 wearer - Dean was easy to wear no doubt! Then slowly I got him to try on the River Gray or Block No.28, which was a little more structured, had an edge binding and a teardrop crown. From there I got him into Colonel Pierce and it was done from there.
All of this to say that Colonel Pierce and Block No.25 may be my absolute favorite block and style we make. And that's saying a lot! Some of us will gravitate towards it immediately, and some of us will get there eventually, but all in all - you need Block No.25 in your life, like yesterday.
