Battle of our Core Styles!
Next up we have Colonel Pierce vs Willie R. I chose these two pals to battle because they both give off a western feel. The cattleman crown of Willie R is classic cowboy imagery, while the pencil curl detail of Colonel Pierce gives a similar nod.
The main objective here is to demonstrate three different outfits and style both hats with each. One of the most often asked question in the shops is "but how will I wear this hat?" And we're here to show you a) just how versatile these hats can be and b) that the entire vibe of the outfit changes by swapping out the hat style.
Look One: A chunky jewel-toned sweater with washed black denim, and a snakeskin ankle boot. I tried Colonel Pierce first, and I initially really loved the brim width mimicking the off-the-shoulder neckline cut of the sweater - it creates a parallel line image which I think looks really nice. Next I tried Willie R, and I really liked how toned down the entire outfit felt. The patterned boots, mixed with the texture of the sweater were the main show-stoppers of the outfit, so Willie R toned it all down in a really nice way. I choose Willie R for this look!
Look Two: Next up I paired a navy striped button-down shirt with dark kick flare jeans, and an oversized indigo denim jacket. I love the layered look to this outfit, and the nods to shades of blue. First up was Colonel Pierce, I instantly gravitated towards how oversized it made the outfit feel. With all the layering of clothing, the brim width really made sense with this look. Not to mention, I had accessorized Colonel with an indigo ribbon which really pulled the entire look together! Willie R also looked really good, definitely took it to more of a Western vibe, which I enjoyed. If I had to choose, I choose Colonel Pierce for this one.
Look Three: A simple turtleneck and wide-leg jeans for the last outfit. This one is tricky because both hats are shades of brown and compliment the camel-colored top really effortlessly. This choice comes down to the vibe of the outfit: Colonel Pierce gives more statement, and Willie R gives more minimal. Because the outfit is simple, I like how Colonel Pierce's wide brim balances out the wide leg of the jeans, especially with flat shoes on and minimal accessories. I think I have to go Colonel on this one!
