Since we interact with so many hat-lovers on our social media channels, Nicky (our social media and community manager), started asking frequent Goorin collectors about their collections, why they love hats, and to share what their hat walls at home look like!

Our next interview in this #hatwallwednesday series is with Joe Braxton, author, Goorin brand ambassador, and native to Baltimore, Maryland who currently resides outside Washington DC. Check out the interview with Nicky and Joe below!

Q: When did you begin your Goorin Bros adventure? / A: In 2019. I’ve always been a hat fanatic, but these were a different kind of hat. The styling, the messaging, & the detail is what sold me.

Q: When did you begin to realize you were starting a collection? / A: When everyone started to be curious as to what new trucker cap I would be wearing next. Also I travel with my full collection which grows while i’m on the road. Ha.

Q: Was there a mind-shift somewhere along the way where you knew you were about to embark on something bigger? / A: When it comes to styling i’m very frugal and shop on a budget, but these Goorin Bros caps compliment my outfits and helps with my positive self esteem & mental health. I’m honored & grateful to be an ambassador for this amazing brand.. that’s pretty major to me.

Q: What are these hats fulfilling from within that has made you keep going and adding to your collection? / A: Goorin Bros hats are fun, stylish & affirming. Depending on which animal from The Farm.. the name alone influences pride & empowerment from within. I see myself as a King, Black Sheep or Lone Wolf & not ashamed about it.Q: What are your top three favorite hats that you own? / A: This is difficult, but my favorite 3 hats would be the red leather “Cherry Mustang” trucker, the black leather “Lone Wolf” trucker & the “Monster” trucker.

Q: Any that you missed or think we should bring back or make for the first time? / A: Hmmmm interesting there’s a few I missed.. just wasn’t quick enough. The “fighter” cap.. also maybe some new collections.. like the Smurfs, Care Bears, Thunder Cats, etc..Q: You are a brand ambassador. How has that been going? / A: I love being a Goorin Bros ambassador. I get compliments on my hats everywhere I go & it feels good to be able to refer them where to purchase & stay updated on the latest drops. It also helps with positive human interaction and kindness. I love representing a brand that I love to wear. I’m hopeful for the future.

Q: Any message you wanted to give to our customers about why you choose Goorin and why you choose to continue adding more and more hats to your collection? / A: I’d say wearing a Goorin Bros hat is thrilling.. it’s exciting because you never know what design will be released. I also love making a statement without saying anything, I let my hats speak for me.

My collection will continue to grow because Goorin Bros is a great brand. The styling, detail & quality is unmatched. Once you wear one you’ll want to wear them all.. no matter if it’s a fedora, flat cap, beanie or trucker hat.
