Packing Hats in Hat Boxes

store 'em, pack 'em, bring 'em

Packing Hats in Hat Boxes - Goorin Bros.
Hat boxes are such an easy and safe way to pack your hats at home, as well as take them with you on the road. Hat boxes are circular in nature and should be slightly larger in circumference than the hats you're trying to pack/store. You'll need to know the width of your hats and brims to ensure their safety in the box - we recommend leaving about a half inch around the outside of the hat from the edge of the box. Our hat boxes sold in our shops come in 15", 16" or 17.5" sizes depending on availability.
Packing more than one hat : It is easiest to pack hats with similar crown shapes so they are able to stack more neatly – we usually recommend not stacking more than 2-4 hats in one box!

Packing a single hat :  Single hats travel best with the crown down and the brim facing upwards within the box. Around the edge of the hat, create a nest with tshirts, socks, underwear – anything soft. This helps prevent the hat from sliding around too much in the box. You want to try to keep the hat as movement-free as possible without creasing the brim. Stiffer brims are the easiest to pack in boxes because of this. If the hat is a more flexible brim, you want to pack enough extra padding to keep the brim as true to shape as possible
