Our plaid collection is here just in time for those temperatures to drop and the true lumberjacks to come out of the woodwork (just kidding.) But for real, plaid is such a great staple for the cooler temperatures and a way to incorporate my fav thing: texture. Whether its herringbone, buffalo plaid in wool or a dressier suit in plaid, the texture and the intricacies of the line-work gives a great depth to your piece.
Now it is true that when I think flannel and woods and casual I think Buffalo checked plaid, especially in that red and black or ice blue and black combination. But it doesn't have to be casual or outdoorsy if you're not. To elevate this particular pattern I vote leather jacket. The dense wool material of the cap with the buttery soft leather jacket plays on one another in a cool way.
For the herringbone and thinner more upscale plaid as I like to call it, my bet is on a monochromatic look. Have that elegant plaid play the biggest role, while actually being the most comfortable and easy part of the outfit. Burberry does an amazing job of styling their quilted jacket with an all tan colored look - throw on Lodge King and you'll be the king we knew you were.
For that denser wool material, I say go all in. Pair it with that matching suit jacket, blazer, or overcoat and have the details pop. Nothing better than a fully coordinated look!
The Plaid collection is seasonal and won't last long - get yours while you can!
